Hey everyone, i am currently playing a low lvl DM/EA stalker.

I was wondering if anyone has had much dealings with energy aura?

If so do you guys know how well it holds up for taking a beating?

Its just that i want this to be my new pvp toon as regen is ok but ideally i would like more shields and i know that EA has decent end drain type powers.

Thanks in advance

Supes.

Admiral Blast you seek... hmmmm... yes....

much experience of Energy Aura and it's potential has he... yes...

Just bear in mind, no self heals, although DM will help with that.

ooo thanking you Ebskies, i will pick blasty's brains ( mmmm braaiiiinns )......

sorry too much hanging round infectious

Anyway i was thinking the same think about lack of self heals but i want to go for a pvp/pve toon where i can take more of a beating than constantly clicking on a heal power like on regen.

Nice one fella...

I think Energy Aura is a great set for brutes both in PvP and PvE. I never have any endurance problems as Endurance Drain is an Area Effect power with fast recharge. And my defence values are high enough that I usually survive longer compared with resistance based brutes in large teams.

I don't have much EA experience for stalkers. First of all Supes, if you intend to play zone PvP, Endurance won't be a problem mate as you'll never have a long melee fight. Stalkers' defence is very high but that's not a problem for blasters with IO builds and buffed by teammates. Stalkers do tend to switch to God Mode power on then attack players with maxed defence, recovery & regen rates, then hide until it recharges. So it won't matter which Set you choose. The only advantage of EA, and I think it's huge, is the resistance to TP by others.

As for PvP duels in the arena, EA will be weaker than Super Reflexes in terms of defence. Plus, Quickness in SR is also very useful combined with Hasten to get your long recharging powers back up.

Endurance is an issue only when you play team PvE mate, as stalkers do hit & run by design in PvP. I'd recommend SR or Will Power if you're interested only in PvP, do consider EA only if you PvP more in zones rather than in the arena.

Oh having said all that, I'm very happy with my ninja blade/ninjitsu stalker which started as an RP toon. He has some useful gadgets in the second set...

NB: I actually recommend you consider swapping DM with Energy Melee for PvP mate.

wow thanks for the detailed feedback blasty.

When im in PVP i normally alternate between hit & run and stand my ground tactics, depending on who and how many heroes i am fighting with ninja.

I was hoping EA would provide me with more defense compared to regen, more shields must translate into better survivablity surely?

I was also thinking that Dark Melee would be decent for pvp for the holds and debuffs on the powers?
